IDear parents/guardians, My name is Doris. I have been a nanny for the past 15 years because of my love for children. I have worked with newborns, toddlers and children up to 14 years old. I also have experience with twins and multiples, I am open for nanny sharing. I am a positive-minded, self-motivated, caring and patient person. My favorite activities with kids are art, singing, music, dancing, baking, reading and more. If you are looking for a long-term helper who is reliable, works well with people, has a genuine love for your children, please give me a call. I am available from Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 PM, full-time above the table only. I'm blessed with a lot of energy, patience and confidence. I speak, write and read English and French fluently. I have a wealth of local references, available and ready. Thank you for your time. I am writing to recommend Doris M., who I found after a recommendation from a fellow physician. She has now worked for several families in this community and worked for our family for 1 year. She is truly a wonderful person and nothing short of amazing. Doris is committed, loving, kind, and patient nanny. She is *amazing* with babies, and always eager to help raise the our daughter in a manner consistent with our values and beliefs. She was happy to take the time to go through materials video on baby led weaning and I’ve found her practicing baby sign language on her phone while our daughter has been napping. Doris joined our family when my daughter was 3 months old and I had just gone back to work. I was panicked about leaving my daughter for sometimes for 28 hour shifts, and it is no overstatement to say we were blessed to have found Doris. As a child neurologist, I am incredibly zoned in on milestones and developmentally appropriate needs. Doris understood what my daughter needed so intuitively, I even started to take tips from her. She grew to understand my daughter’s personality and how to anticipate her needs to keep her thriving on a daily basis. She keeps our daughter busy- always reading to her, narrating my daughter’s actions to promote her language, and creating games to improve her motor development. She knew how my daughter felt comforted, she knew how to set up a schedule that fell in line with her natural rhythms, and I always came home to a happy and relaxed baby. I can’t emphasize enough how blown away I was by all the work that Doris put in to planning full and meaningful days. She collected information on free events at our local libraries, arranged playdates with other nannies in those spaces, and proposed age appropriate activities to the children’s museum and music classes, which we happily accepted. Through these, my daughter has learned to socialize fantastically with other kids. She also let us know when our daughter needed particular items like cold weather clothing. She also knows how to go into our refrigerator and pick out the exact things we would want our daughter to have. I literally hand my daughter over in the morning, and walk out the door without a single worry knowing Doris has it all covered. It’s absolutely incredible. Lastly, Doris is as punctual and reliable as you can be. Doris was NEVER been late, and NEVER missed a day of work. Unfortunately, we no longer have the hours to give Doris as our daughter grew up and was ready to start early education. We feel like we are saying goodbye to a family member in losing her as a nanny and are grateful we can still hire her as a babysitter.
