About Donna

Dear Elder Care Companion Seeker, For nearly three years, Donna provided extraordinary care for our mother Liz, an Alzheimer's patient. Before Donna, Liz was in declining physical and cognitive health. Once we hired Donna to care for Liz, her health and mood improved rapidly. Donna cooked fresh and nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day. Donna and Liz took neighborhood walks everyday. Donna made sure that Liz got to all her doctors appointments and physical therapy sessions. Donna could even get her exercising on a stationary bike. Hygiene is often a difficult aspect of senior care, but Donna is a true elder whisperer. Under Donna’s care Liz was always clean, nails clipped, hair washed, fresh clothes – and Liz enjoyed that she looked “put together”. Donna’s companion care went way beyond the basics and exceeded even our most optimistic expectations. Donna became a true friend to Liz and our family. They would eat together, talk and share stories from their lives. They especially enjoyed singing together. Donna supported Liz’s efforts to work on art projects at her desk. When a special event was approaching, Donna would take Liz clothes shopping and prepare her mentally for the excitement of an outing. Our most informative experiences with Donna came during the summers. Our extended family gathers in an old summer house in new england. Donna accompanied Liz on two of these summer trips. We spent the weeks all living together. It was truly a joy to get to know Donna on a personal level and experience her deep care and connection to Liz. Donna brings her whole authentic person to her work, and this makes an enormous impact on the quality of the care and the relationship our mother enjoyed. They shared a sense of humor that helped make things easy. As a family, we wholeheartedly endorse Donna. She is a highly skilled care giver, an outstanding companion and a truly special person.
