I have 30+ years experience caring for my son who has a physically disability. This is where I learned about my natural ability to work with special needs. I'm a patient nurturer who is understanding of those with differences. I'm at ease around both cognitive and physical disabilities. I'm familiar with ABA therapy and different reward systems for education. I'm comfortable in hospital settings, dealing with medical supplies, behavioral issues, alternative learning styles, OCD, sensory issues, anxiety, depression, administering medicines, making doctor's appointments, taking care of daily tasks, dressing, transferring, Gastrostomy tube feeding. I'm familiar with a Hoyer lift, conversion vans, catheters, and the odd array of medical devices. I'm quite comfortable caring for many different individuals, while having fun. But most importantly, I'm very good at my job.
