About Dezzie
Experience: 10 yrs
I started as a daycare assistant at the age of 20, continued that job for two years, and then opened up my own daycare in 2000. Then I joined my daycare with a family member's child care. It closed in 2004. I have been taking care of children for about 26 years off and on. I am passionate about taking care of children because they are our future and are special. They make me feel special when I know that I've done a good job and that little face smiles at me or remembers me one or two years later, and hugs me. I have grown a lot while in the childcare field from an assistant to the owner, then working for a big childcare corporation as an Aide, and worked my way up until I was a Center Director. I am now a Mahtomedi Adventure Club Associate for a Before & After school age program, a Special Education Paraprofessional, and also a bus monitor for Mahtomedi School District.
