About Denicia

As a recent undergraduate student from Radford University currently in between graduate school I plan to take this time to help figure out what is the best career path for me. One career path I've taken an interest to is Physical Education for K - 12. I currently am afterschool teacher with the YMCA for a program called YXL where I supervise and care for children ranging from five to 10 years old, with a total of 12 children or more. With the YMCA I have been able to receive several certifications to insure I provide the best child care service including: Health Screenings for Child Care Professionals, Child Abuse and Neglect, Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff; provided by Virginia Department of Education. Being a Childcare provider is not just a job for me, but also something I enjoy doing. Being able to be a positive role model for children, provide safe and fun care as well as learning experiences that they can take with them for as long as possible is my goal.
