About Debra

Retired teacher who worked in District 20 for 30 years, is available to tutor your child to improve reading strategies, math skills, help with homework and more . I taught grades 1-5 and was a Drama teacher. Available for 1:1, working with K-3 students. I'd describe my personality as friendly, dedicated, supportive I like tutoring because being retired I miss teaching. I'm looking for a job that is rewarding and hope to see a big improvement in my students academics. I started tutoring when I just began teaching, which is about 28 years ago. In my spare time, I like to read, spend time with my family, take walks and jog. One thing you should know about me is I care about my students. Want them to feel confident when they're working with me and enjoy learning. My skills include working on reading strategies using programs I was trained in over the years.
