Qualities I bring to the workplace while caring for people of any age or background are respect, humor, patience, and kindness. I stay calm in the midst of chaos; use behavior-specific praise; play whenever possible. 2001 to present: Foster Parent: parented teen girls, moms & their infants, pre-school children. Behaviors addressed: ADD/ADHD, serious attachment deficits, Opposition /defiant disorder, self-harm/suicidal idealization history, anxious/hyper vigilant behaviors, mistrust of adults. Medical conditions: epilepsy, life-threatening allergies, panic attacks, severe PTSD, substance abuse 2011 to present: VT Agency of Human Services Parenting Coach for moms and/or dads with children from infant through elementary school age. DUTIES: Teach parents developmental mile markers for their child and age-appropriate parenting strategies. Encourage them to play, read, and talk with their child in a kind, respectful style.
