I have worked with young children over 35 years: 20 years in the classroom as a preschool head teacher, and the last 15, I have worked with private families as a nanny. I have loved both experiences! Working as a nanny has been especially rewarding. I love helping children explore their world around them through experiences and hands on activities. Working with paint, markers, crayons play dough, water play etc. materials that help build small motor skills, develop cause and effect and problem solving. I am a huge advocate of reading and play through dance. I like to encourage independence and a big believer in age appropriate activities. I am a huge animal lover. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 31 years and we have 2 amazing adult daughters. Debbie is an amazing caretaker. That first time you meet a new babysitter is always full of pressure to make sure you tell the person everything they need to know, but Debbie walked right in and proactively started asking all the questions that you would want someone to ask. Our 3.5 year old was immediately entranced with his new friend and didn't even pay attention as we walked out the door. Debbie even brought him an introductory gift that was completely unnecessary, but wonderful, and helped ease the handoff to someone he had never met before. With her extensive experience, we knew he was going to have a great night and that there was literally not one thing we had to be concerned about. We look forward to hiring Debbie again and again! She is a true shining star and clearly enjoys taking care of children as if they were her own.
