After retiring from work in Speech Pathology (ages newborn through 16 years old) and a successful career in outside sales, I have worked as a nanny for three Lake country families for a total of 6 years. The ages of the children ranged from newborn to age six. Two of the families had twin newborns/toddlers. Often, there was a parent who worked at home, thus being able to observe my skill and genuine caring feelings for their children. I was responsible for care that included stimulating play, meals, some transportation to outings, and family laundry. (I transitioned to retail sales for nine years because I needed a benefit plan; I now have my own health care plan, and would like to serve families again on a part-time basis.) Due to allergies I cannot be in homes with pets. I have never smoked. I do not spend time on my cellphone and generally only use it while traveling. I do not believe in using TV or DVD as a babysitter. I am conscientious, devoted and youthful. I believe in discipline through setting boundaries and follow through. I also recognize the extreme value of praise, affection and playfulness, and I cherish the delightful insight of children. I enjoy infant care, and love rocking and holding babies! As a Speech and Language specialist certified for schools, clinics, and private practice, I bring additional value to nanny work by utilizing my skills in facilitating cognitive, motor, and language development. I welcome the opportunity to go the extra mile for busy families; and foster enthusiasm in their offspring toward being positive contributors to our world as their lives evolve.
