About Dawn

I have worked with elderly with dementia and Alzheimer's for the last 15 years. I became passionate about it when my grandfather was diagnosed. I took care of him for over 7 years until he passed away. I have been with my current client for over 6 years. Prior to that, I worked with a blind, elderly woman for over 5 years. I have a degree in Psychology from Southern Illinois University. I have begun my Masters Program for Gerontology and will be finished by 2015. When my older children were growing up, they always volunteered with me at the local rehabilitation facility and did their community service hours for school at one. The stories and people that people have met are so interesting. I love to sit and listen to the stories they enjoy telling. Even if I do get to hear the same story every day, there seems to be new details I get each time they retell them.
