Hello families! I grew up in the Milwaukee area and have been around kids and babysitting since I can remember. At age 12, I was trained and certified at the YMCA and that began my neighborhood babysitting career! After college, I moved overseas and taught kindergarten, English as a Second Language (ESL) for over five years. When I moved back home in 2008, I was a nanny for 13 months for a family with a newborn and 2-year-old. We all worked as a team to make sure everyone's needs were being met. It was a very rewarding experience. Currently, I am going back to school (UWM) to get my teaching certification for special education. I would like to find a family who needs a nanny in the area. Dawn was a full-time nanny for our 9 month old and we would highly recommend her. She is responsible, trustworthy, thoughtful, organized and we always felt our daughter was in great hands. Dawn has a very friendly, outgoing and positive personality and she truly understands the developmental milestones of children. As first time parents we were hesitant to leave our daughter in another person's care but Dawn made our transition easy. She was dependable, mature and had excellent communication throughout our experience. She updated us on the details of our daughter's day and often sent us email/pictures at work so we could connect to our daughter throughout the work week. She is very mature and knew how to keep our daughter happy, engaged and safe. Our daughter took to her right away and they had a great relationship and we owe a lot of what she learned to Dawn. Dawn believes in connecting to the children she cares for by forming a sincere relationship. She did this through her positive energy, genuine verbal connection and developmental activities. She took the time to form a relationship, not only with our daughter but also with us. As parents we recommend Dawn but I should also mention that I work in the field of Education and I would not trust anyone more than her to care for my daughter again if we had the chance.
