About Dawn

Dawn worked for our family from August 2022 to August 2023. She started when our daughter was about 2.5 months old when I had to return to work from maternity leave. Dawn came to our house everyday and cared for our daughter while my husband and I worked. She was responsible for feeding her, changing diapers, cleaning her bottles, and making meals as she transitioned to solids. We also had to take our daughter to physical therapy for a few months for torticollis (aka a stiff neck/tight neck muscles) which was causing a flat spot on the side of her head. Dawn accompanied me and my daughter to these appointments and practiced the exercises we learned at PT when she was home with her. With Dawn’s help, we were able to fix this issue quickly and graduate from PT faster than anticipated. We also have a dog, Piper, who she wasn’t directly responsible for, but she cared for her as well and made sure she was looked after. As a first-time mom I was already extremely nervous and cautious with our new baby girl, and it was very nerve racking to have to put your trust in a “stranger” to look after and care for your baby. However, Dawn came highly recommended and quickly made us feel at ease after our first meeting. She was so loving and nurturing towards our daughter and the feeling was obviously mutual as our daughter quickly took to her and was always happy to be with her. It was difficult for me to leave and go to work in the mornings, but I was able to leave confidently, knowing our daughter was in good hands every day. Dawn was excellent with communication and checked in with me if she had any questions or just to send cute photos of my daughter throughout the day which I appreciated tremendously. She is very reliable and has always been so patient, generous, kind, and flexible. Amid all the crazy she was our constant calm; she was the anchor to our family that we didn’t know we needed.
