Working as a home health aide, I cared for four patients daily. I assisted with activities of daily living which included helping client recover, regain their independence, and become as self-sufficient as possible. I helped with bathing, dressing, and grooming, in addition to assistance with meal preparation, housekeeping, and shopping. I assisted with: ambulating, exercises, toileting, bathing, dressing, and feeding. I administered: medication, oxygen, nebulizer, wheelchair, sliding sheet, commode, urinal, bedpan, and Depends. I assisted patients with, Alzheimer's, balance/falls, cancer, confusion, cerebral palsy, dementia, depressions, diabetes, forgetfulness, heart disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson's, pressure sores, and stroke. One patient I cared for seven days a week and we had a close relationship. I stayed with her for six months. She had no family, so on my time off I would contact her to see if she needed anything. I enjoyed providing basic care services for my client. I viewed her the same as I would my grandparent. I love caring for others, and letting them know they're not alone.
