About Darla

I would describe myself as being compassionate, caring and empathetic. I know first hand the desire to keep loved ones at home. I also know how difficult that can be. I cared for my mom in my home and felt our caregivers were a true God-send. I want to be that for others. I desire a helping relieve some of the pressure and stress from the family. I started caring for seniors as a teenager when my grandparents lived with us after they both suffered strokes only a few months apart. I knew then I wanted to be a nurse. I have been an RN for 30+ years. I worked in hospice for 24. I have always preferred caring for older adults. In my spare time, I like to volunteer at my church, be with my kids, grandsons and my husband. One thing about me is I am very friendly and personable. I have a way so others feel very comfortable with me in a short period of time. My skills include compassionate listening and learning about others and their interests so they feel heard.
