About Darby

Hello! My name is Darby and I'm a 29-year-old retired elementary school teacher. I now have a remote communications job, but still love to help kids leverage their learning. My expertise lies with math, reading, grammar, and science with students in K-5. I'm also a Spanish speaker! I'd describe my personality as patient, friendly, and creative. I like tutoring because tutoring helped me as a child. Everyone learns differently and tutoring allows for flexible personalized learning. Which not only improves academic performance but also boosts a child's confidence and motivation! I started tutoring when I was a high school sophomore... so a while ago. In my spare time, I like to spend time with family and my puppy toy poodle. Often we go on walks and I spend a good deal of time swimming and reading.
