About Daphne

Hello! I'm Daphne, and I'm a nanny and former preschool teacher with over 10 years of experience. I believe every child deserves a safe, loving, and encouraging environment to grow, take risks, and make mistakes, knowing there's someone there to catch them when they fall. I employ principles of Montessori and Reggio Emilia in my approach to teaching, building self-esteem and self-sufficiency by involving children in getting themselves ready, putting away toys, and preparing meals - always with careful instruction, encouragement, and patience. I also place a strong emphasis on communication and language-acquisition through baby sign, reading stories, talking, and singing. Favorite activities include dance parties, art projects, nature walks, and trips to the park and library (while maintaining covid-safety)!
