Over the last two years, I was a companion to a wonderful woman in her late eighties. I worked with her until July, when she was moved to a full-care facility. I helped her with all of the basic caregiver jobs as well as taking her to doctor appointments, hair appointments, craft stores, clothes and grocery shopping, exercise classes, the senior center, museums, basically anywhere she wanted to go. I helped her to have some freedom while providing stability and care.
