Hi! I'm Kate!! After getting my degrees in philosophy and education from the University of Notre Dame, I spent 2 years in full-time classroom teaching and enjoyed subbing and tutoring in between with kids of varying learning differences! After moving to Eugene, OR, from Houston, TX, I am happy to continue my work in education. I am passionate about fostering an authentic love of learning. 1) I prioritize cultivating students' trust in themselves and their abilities 2) Approaching problem-solving like a puzzle or quest to engage student curiosity 3) Patience and variety of intentional approaches to differing learning skills I can tutor all levels of math & literacy - Including the Singapore math curriculum, which I implemented in lessons at my previous school! My rate is $30 per hour- However, for 1 hr sessions booked once a week rather than 2+ hr sessions or 2+ days a week, my rate does increase. I am always happy to negotiate what rate you would feel most comfortable with!

Kate (Dana) is a fantastic tutor. She helps my 10 y/o son weekly ( for the past 3 months) with all of the core subjects! He is doing well in school and enjoys learning with her. She always arrives on time and ready to go. She is also flexible with a few times that I needed to change the schedule. She is very knowledgeable and patient. She communicates with me regularly on how my son is doing. I would recommend her to friends and family.
