I hired Daijah in January 2023 to nanny my 4-month-old child and another 4-month-old baby as part of a nanny share arrangement with another family in my neighborhood. From the beginning, I was impressed by her level of knowledge and professionalism as well as her clear love and affinity for children. She came to our first in-person interview with a binder full of certifications, references, proof of vaccinations, which put me at ease as an anxious first-time mom dreading the transition out of maternity leave. Daijah was a full-time nanny for my nanny share for 7 months before an amicable end due to a family issue on her part. My husband and I work from home and we exclusively hosted the nanny share, and with the kids’ playroom just down the hall from my office, I can confidently say I have a thorough understanding of Daijah’s working style. She is incredibly warm and loving with the kids she cares for. She is professional, punctual, neat/clean and very communicative. My favorite thing about her (what I came to truly miss when trying out other nannies after her departure) is that she is incredibly collaborative. She was deliberate about thoroughly understanding our care preferences (everything around diapering, sleeping schedules, feeding, etc.) while also respectfully offering suggestions based on her experiences. She was a huge source of support when we underwent several weeks of sleep training (physically and emotionally challenging for all), transitioned to solids, and supported all our baby’s milestones. On the rare occasion that we had a misunderstanding or were unsatisfied with something, one open and direct conversation was enough to address the issue and get back on the same page. We have since transitioned our baby to day care but still depend on Daijah for occasional babysitting, so I can confirm that 1 year later, she remains someone I would wholeheartedly trust with our baby (who still adores her). Daijah is a skilled caregiver who works well with families looking for — and willing to reciprocate and compensate — the professionalism she brings to her jobs.
