About Cynthia

I am a dedicated educator with 10 years of combined childcare and teaching experience in search of a part-time position. My childcare experience ranges from infants to 14 years old. I was a full-time science teacher in NYC for 8 years and have been working as a mental health and rehabilitation counselor for the last 2 years. I am fun, playful and love to nurture a child's curiosity about the world around them. I find it very important to carefully guide children in understanding what they value and who they authentically are. I believe in creating a structured, compassionate environment where a sense of independence is fostered. I enjoy helping young people learn how to identify, communicate, and manage their emotions in order to expand their social and emotional awareness. I am passionate about mental and physical health, clean eating, and mindfulness practices. I'm an avid reader and yoga practitioner. I'm fluent in Spanish. References can be provided upon request.
