Courtney started off as an amazing caregiver with a lot of great qualities. She is intuitive, instinctive, and understands how to care for individuals with very progressive disabilities even though she has not had medical training. Unfortunately, after the first few weeks of having her provide care, she began to become unreliable, lacked punctuality, and had a sudden need to change her schedule with limited notice. After only 3 weeks of providing care, she needed to return home for 8 days. My other caregivers willingly stepped up to cover her shifts in her absence with the understanding that she would cover their much shorter absences (2-3 days) in the foreseeable future. The day before Courtney was scheduled to return, she abruptly quit without a 2 week notice citing a family illness even though she had been in conversations with the other caregivers that she would return soon. I think Courtney has some reflecting and growing up to do. I would recommend hiring her unless it is on a case-by-case basis.
