About Colleen

I'm a 54-year-old retired teacher with 27 years experience as a reading teacher who specializes in DYSLEXIA. I am trained in several Orton Gillingham Programs and what sets me apart from other tutors is that I incorporate many programs to individualize instruction based on their specific needs. After giving a free assessment, I will discuss with you whether your child is a good candidate for my program. I teach decoding, spelling, and cursive handwriting. I have certifications from NJ and TX in Elementary Education, Special Education, Reading, and received certifications as a Dyslexia Therapist and Academic Language Therapist from TX Scottish RIte Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Above all, I take pride in making learning fun!
