About Colleen

Families that I have cared for refer to me as Auntie Colleen and being Auntie Colleen is a joy! Over the last 12 years, besides my own daughter, who is now 18, I have cared for six other children starting as young as 8 weeks old. I was the primary caregiver for each of them until they went off to preschool and I have a loving and caring relationship with the families that continue to this day. Children are my favorite people and as such, we have always responded well to each other. When caring for children, I work to meet them where they are at, providing activities that fit their interests and allow them to explore and grow. I find that given age appropriate activities and and expectation, children respond enthusiastically. I love children's literature, music, art of all kinds, cooking, and our beautiful environment here in San Diego. I hold a degree in Child Development and have spent most of my career and volunteer life working on behalf of children and families.
