About Colleen

Caring for people, children, and animals has always come naturally to me, both establishing rapport with discipline, and tending to their needs. Through both high school and university, I babysat and gave animal care to help support myself. Prior to that, I cared for siblings, cousins, and neighborhood pets. As an adult, I have been a full-time and part time caregiver for children, adults and pets. I taught public high school English for 7 years and have also been a substitute teacher for grades K-12 an additional seven years. Though caregiving can sometimes be intense, I have been able to find many effective methods to diffuse upsets and to reestablish equanimity and cooperation. I'm a highly emphatic person while also able to establish and maintain boundaries. I look forward to meeting you!
