About Cody

Hello all! I am a professional nanny who has been in the field since I was 15 years old. I have experience with all ages and am comfortable with multiple children being in my care. In the past I have worked with single families, as a joint sitter, and in day cares as a head teacher before moving to Richmond. I have experience working with differently abled children, as well as directly working with a speech pathologist to help my past charges grow. I am not reliant on screen time, rather I highlight the importance of imagination and outdoor activities, and would love a family who is fine with me taking their children to parks or even just on walks throughout the day. I encourage independence and solo play while also being sure to engage with children on a personal level and join in on games when appropriate. Currently available until 3:30, and will be available part time in summer. Come August I have a job lined up but I would love to find a way we could continue to work together!

Cody has cared for our toddler-aged daughter for two-ish years at this point. She is INCREDIBLE, so thoughtful, and so good at her job. It’s been wonderful to have a caregiver for our daughter who we trust so whole-heartedly. And as a very important bonus, our daughter loves her and enjoys all of their time together. We’ve really enjoyed watching their relationship develop and seeing our daughter learn from Cody. As an example, Cody sings our daughter a song when she’s upset and not only does it work like a charm to calm our daughter down, she now sings it to herself when she’s upset to self soothe. Not only does Cody keep our daughter safe and supervised, she really plays and engages with our daughter too. Cody goes above and beyond and is an integral part of our family and parenting system. We are so bummed to not be able to use her as much during the school year now that our daughter is in school, but we snag her every chance we get for date nights and school breaks. When Cody comes over our daughter basically kicks us out because she’s so excited to hang with Cody. Hiring Cody is one of the best decisions we’ve ever made and we feel so lucky to know her!
