I'm a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with over 24 years of experience caring for people in hospitals, memory care, assisted living, and private homes. I've cared for people with many needs--from hands-on assistance to companionship, support, encouragement, and a dependable presence. I also have experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. I believe caregiving is not one-size-fits-all. I take the time to observe each person, understand their personality, behavior, routines, and preferences, and adjust my approach accordingly. I pay attention to the little things because they often speak louder than words. Every person I've cared for has taught me something and shaped the caregiver I am today. For me, caregiving is more than completing tasks. It is about preserving dignity, offering reassurance, and helping each person feel safe, respected, comfortable, and cared for. I care for every person the way I would want someone to care for my own family.
