Hello, my name is Cindy, and I am a recently retired special education teacher. I have 30 years of experience teaching children from preschool through sixth grade. In addition, I have been tutoring special needs students since 2011. I have successfully helped children with learning disabilities, ADHD, mild cognitive disabilities, Autism, and emotional disabilities I have extensive experience successfully working with students who struggle in reading, writing, and math. I assess each student to determine his or her academic strengths and weaknesses, as well as learning style. I then put together a diagnostic and prescriptive learning plan using research based, programs, and multi-sensory techniques. My lesson plans adhere to the Indiana's Common Core Standards. I have a vast amount of teacher resources, and I use a variety of materials, and computer programs to keep learning fun, as well as provide the necessary drill and practice my students need. Further, I offer free advice to my clients regarding how they can academically support their child at home. In addition, I help families understand their child's Individual Education Program, and I am available to attend Annual Case Reviews, and parent/teacher conferences.

Cindy is excellent in helping kids with learning disabilities. Dyslexia runs in my family and my husband's and my son struggled even in kindergarten with phonics. She tutored him for a year & 1/2. Now he's a good reader and at grade level in 6th grade. Cindy is very understanding and works to find the best way for a child to learn. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor.
