I began my journey as a caregiver helping my grandparents years ago and definitely understand the challenge of finding compassionate, skilled, quality care. Disillusioned with how unprepared and isolating nursing homes can be, I left the clinical environment to help people stay in the familiar comfort of home. I believe that no two people are the same and each care need situation is unique. My 10+ years of experience have included both female and male individuals with: Dementia (Alzheimer's, frontotemporal, Lewy body, and vascular), and Parkinson's Disease, as well as mobility challenges. Additional variables included in my skill set(s) include: - mechanical lift proficiency (hoyers and sit-to-stands) - catheter care (foley, suprapubic & condom) - colostomy/ostomy hygiene/care - PT ordered mobility exercises - General housekeeping/organization, bathing/showers, meal planning/prep - Excellent references
