About Christine

Hi, I am a former public school teacher and homeschooling mom. I taught middle school and high school science as a certified teacher. I didn't maintain my certification after I left teaching as a profession but I carried my passion for working with students with me. While I strongly believe in public education I also recognized that my son needed an approach that was tailored to his strengths and interests to thrive so I homeschooled from elementary school-high school. I have experience with typical classroom assignments, online courses, student led/ interest based approaches and structured curriculum such as Orton-Gillingham (I was a parent using the program; I am not a Barton certified tutor), Oh Freedom, Math-U-See and more. I believe students learn best when they feel safe, known, and understood and the adults take the time to meet them where they are and honor each unique child.
