About Christie

My caregiving first started when I was a help to a 94-year-old woman with osteoporosis. From there I spent several summers working at The Painted Turtle Camp, a camp for children with special needs and life threatening illnesses. Throughout college I worked at Curves and spent several years getting to know older members and doing circuit training with them. After college I moved to Minneapolis spending one year as a special education professional in MPS and 6-7 school years as a licensed K-12 theatre and dance teacher. I also spent the 7 year course of my teaching career as a PCA for a nonverbal autistic boy with medical needs, helping his family including younger brother with pickup, caregiving, and medical needs on an as needed basis. Since moving to California from Minneapolis I have been substitute teaching and working on my creative career.
