About Chris

Have loved being around kids and younger teenagers since I was in high school. In college while studying to be a teacher I looked after four sisters ages 4, 6, 8, and 10 during the summers while they're single mom attended college. I also worked at a science summer camp one year as a counselor building rockets and Lego robots with 6-10-year-olds. I did two years of observation in classrooms before student teaching in a high school my last semester of college. I became a substitute teacher my first year out of school then was an after the year hire part time my second year. Then I found Bald Ridge Lodge, a boys group home in Cumming, GA that I have worked at for three years caring for boys that were out of their home environment for various reasons. It was always challenging but I can honestly say I was able to build a great relationship with all the boys we worked with while taking on a number of roles for each of them as cook, nurse, tutor, mentor, transporter, and more.
