About Cheyanne

Cheyanne was a student in the Early Childhood Program at the SUNY Morrisville Norwich Campus. As her professor and advisor, I had the gift of watching her grow from a student into an early childhood professional. She worked with several local agencies to complete practicum experiences and service-learning projects. Each agency partner spoke of Cheyanne with respect and praise for her child-centered approach to working with children, love of families, willingness to work as a team member, and ability to pitch in to solve problems. During our class discussions, Cheyanne would comment about supporting a struggling child and that some children misbehave because they need support. She considered how to set limits for children and provide positive redirection while ensuring that they understood she cared deeply for them and their feelings. I am confident that Cheyanne will give families and children thoughtful and compassionate care.
