About Chelsea

My name is Chelsea and I love learning, teaching, and working with students of all ages. I have been a certified teacher here in Utah for 7 years, with an emphasis in mathematics. Although I have been teaching math primarily in a middle school setting (grades 7 through 9), this past 23-24 school year I was blessed to be a part of my school's Elementary Math Intervention team, working with students in first grade through fifth grade for half of my work day Monday-Thursday. It is always my goal to teach math that makes sense to students, focusing more on the "how" and "why" math works than "what" the correct answer is. While I prefer supporting students in mathematics, I also enjoy tutoring in English Language Arts. I LOVE to read, and have truly grown to enjoy writing, thanks to all of my wonderful years of education and teaching.
