About Chamari

Chamari was our nanny for almost 7 months, during which time my son went from 2.5 months to 9 months old. We ended up moving to be closer to our family, or we would have stayed with her for much longer! Chamari has been the biggest blessing for our family. My son loves her and feels comfortable with her, and from the moment we met her I could tell it was going to be a great fit. My son is medically fragile and has a disability, and we think that has been interfering with his sleep. The best way for him to sleep was to be held for every nap, which Chamari did without complaint. She is great at reading baby’s cues and responding to their needs, and as a first time mom it brought me so much peace to know I could leave my son in her care and he would feel safe as well as have fun. I could always trust that they would spend lots of time outside, listening to music, and playing in the floor. Chamari is a very intelligent, kind, and well-spoken person, and I feel like we had the type of relationship where I could ask her to do things differently if something wasn’t working for us, and she could let me know if she felt like something in my son’s routine needed to change. This was especially helpful as my son got older and started taking fewer naps— Chamari was able to help us figure out when it was time to drop a nap, or extend his wake windows. I can’t tell you how important it is to find someone who not only takes care of your child but also helps to reduce your mental load as a mom by partnering with you instead of just waiting for instruction and offering no input! My son was exclusively breastfed before we started solids, and I was very nervous about trusting someone else to bottle feed him. Not only did Chamari do a great job at feeding him in an upright position to help his tummy, but she also helped us SO much by washing and sanitizing bottle and pump parts when she had spare time. Once a maintenance man came to our house to look at a leak, but he hadn’t said exactly when he was coming, so I was not able to give Chamari a heads up. When he showed up at our door and I was not home, she did not let him in without first calling and verifying with me who he was and why he was there. Obviously this was a mistake on my part, but I was so glad that Chamari handled the situation the way she did and put my child’s safety first! As my son got older, their bond got stronger and they became besties. When my husband brought him downstairs to her each morning, he would grin from ear to ear when he saw her!
