About Cecilia

Hello, My name is Cecilia and I am a Junior at The University of Miami who is home for the summer and looking for a job. I am fluent in English and Spanish and have 3 years of paid experience of working with children but my years of unpaid childcare have gone beyond that. I began by watching family members and then worked as a Summer Camp Counselor at Garden School Day Camp in Queens New York for about three summers I worked with children ranging from 1-8 years old here. Around this same time I also volunteered as a middle school coach for the New York Urban Debate League and taught children speech and debate skills after school. Since moving to Miami for school I have also balanced my studies with volunteering and teaching at an after school program called Kids and Culture. My experience here included helping to create community gardening events and mentoring students about music history.
