About Catherine

I'd describe my personality as flexible, creative, energetic. I like working with kids because they energize me. Kids keep my very active mind and body moving. I love to see kids learning and engaged and excited. I'm looking for a job that allows me to working mornings in a mentally stimulating context where I can share my energy, creativity, and compassion I started working with kids when I was 18 years old. I worked at various child care centers through college. I went straight into teaching when I graduated. I taught middle school language arts for27 years. For seven of those years, my classroom was a magnet for students with special needs. In my spare time, I like to travel, grow things, go to concerts, dance, and spend time with my almost-adult kids. My skills include the ability to incorporate literacy and a love for books into daily routines, my knowledge of local venues and activities for children, and my patience and intuitiveness.
