About Catherine

I'd describe my personality as patient, kind, and empathetic. I like tutoring because working with students one-on-one provides less distraction, creates opportunities for students to be themselves, and allows students to set learning goals with an adult who's attention is directed to helping them be successful. I'm looking for a job where I can tutor students who need extra help in reading, grammar, and/or writing. I can help students in preschool through eighth grade in a quiet environment. I started tutoring in college while earning my BS in Elementary Education. I am now a retired teacher with 20 years of experience. I've taught preschool, kindergarten, middle school, and was a resource teacher. In my spare time, I like to garden, cook, go walking, listen to music, read, and spend time with family. One thing you should know about me is that I am a Christian. My faith shapes what I do and say. My skills include problem solving, organization, and patience.
