About Catherine

I grew up with my grandfather who had Alzheimer's disease for as long as I can remember. When I got to be about 15, his disease had progressed to the point where he needed 24 hour care. I helped care for him, preparing meals & medicine, helping with showering, taking him out for walks and to the beach on little trips. I have volunteered at various nursing homes, preparing meals and talking/playing games with residents. I have volunteered in hospice, visiting elderly patients and providing companionship. I am passionate about caring for the elderly because I admire and respect the wisdom that seniors have to offer & notice that often seniors do not get the attention they deserve.
