About Catherine

Thanks goodness Catherine D. came into our lives over 2 years ago and has been a fantastic nanny for our son (age 5 ½) and our daughter (age 2 ½). I have only positive things to say about her personally and her ability to do a wonderful job. Catherine is a woman of fine upstanding character and has been a great role model for our children. She is trustworthy, reliable and very hard-working. She also leads a healthy lifestyle including eating right and exercising. My family has really been able to count on her to be punctual (always early actually), and to step right into any situation and handle it with sound judgement and ease. She communicates effectively with us and the kids and gives us useful information about their day so that we all stay in the loop. My kids love Catherine as her fun, upbeat personality is contagious. She is always engaging with them. (not the nanny who sits at the park on her phone!) She runs around with them at the park, slides, digs in the sand, plays with princesses, colors, makes things out of play doh, and reads to them all the time. Her instinct for educating children also shows when she guides my son through a workbook or quizzes my daughter on her letters and numbers - they have learned a lot from her. She is creative, positive and encouraging with them and they enjoy spending time with her. Her loving, nurturing side shows at nap time, bath time and bed time. She really knows how to comfort babies and children and they respond to her warmth. Of course my kids are far from perfect and Catherine is strong and calm when handling the tough times too. She knows what to say and how to say it and gets kids to listen and cooperate. My son has severe ADHD and she has been sensitive to his quirks and temperamental nature. She even aided in communications with his TK teacher at school regarding behavior issues. As for my daughter, Catherine was a huge help in getting her potty trained, and knows how to handle her “terrible twos” moments too. Catherine has also been very supportive and helpful around the house. She always cleans up after herself and the kids - in the kitchen, the family room, and their bedrooms. She also takes initiative keeping things tidy - helping with laundry, dishes, sweeping. She has even made herself available for cleaning projects (at a higher pay scale) when I get overloaded or have special events like company coming in town which has alleviated a lot of stress for me. It would take volumes to say all the great things that Catherine has done for us since we hired her. My recommendation for her is enthusiastic and without hesitation
