About Cate

Hi! I'm Cate. I'm a student at Bucknell University, and I love doing anything outdoors, being creative, being with animals, and just generally spending time with kids. I would like to say that being born and raised here has given me a pretty good sense of direction! When I was 7, my Aunt and Uncle adopted my little cousin, and I would credit my passion for working with children to her. She is on the autism spectrum, and often needs extra help at camp or play dates. We developed an incredibly close bond, and when I was 11, I became her "special helper" at camp. I was in awe by her innate ability to include everyone around her and always help a friend in need. A lot of the time, it felt more like she was helping me, rather than the other way around. After many summers of doing this, I continued babysitting for whoever I could, and began consistently babysit her best friend. I plan to major in educational psychology in college, and possibly pursue a teaching degree!
