I am offering care out of my home. My children are 9 yrs and 7 yrs and we have two dogs. We are a Waldorf inspired family and believe in a low tech/no tech environment as well as play based nature learning. We have both a daily and a weekly rhythm to instill a sense of dependability and predictability for the children. It is my goal to provide your child with emotional, educational, and social support in a loving and nurturing home atmosphere. I have been offering care out of my home for the past five years as well as babysitting some evenings and weekends for families as needed. I volunteered for six years with a non-profit group called Hike it Baby-encouraging families to get outdoors and create community. I also have previous experience working with adults (age18-21) with developmental disabilities and have volunteered with at-risk youth (ages 6-10).

I have had the pleasure of a bit over two (2) wonder-full years, bringing my child to Toadstools, under the care of Carrie, affectionately known to us as, "Mama Care." My daughter was immersed in a daily rhythm each week, which instilled in my child: - a positive sense of self and self-reliance - an appreciation for nature and our seasons (planting, nurturing, tending to, and eating from the garden) - healthy eating habits (THE HOMEMADE FOOD!) - reasonable compassion for others - table manners - sign language to encourage confidence in self expression when words were lacking! - space to stretch and grow, to try out and accept new, and sometimes "big" feelings I could go on and on. We are truly blessed to be part of the Toadstools family. Her loving home was a home away from mine, and one in which I could entrust my daughter's early development experience.
