About Carolyn

I have worked one-on-one as a math tutor with junior high and high school students. I have worked as a volunteer leading afterschool extracurriculars for 2nd-8th graders: Creative Writing, Math Games, and Survival Skills. I also have experience training adults in audio-visual tech support, and I am comfortable creating educational videos. I can provide a sample educational video if you would like to see how I teach concepts. Something I enjoy about tutoring verses teaching is the ability to customize my approach to a particular student's needs. Two students who struggle with the same subject may be struggling for entirely different reasons, so I take time to get to know what a student's strengths are and what their stumbling blocks are. I have an American Heart Association BLS (CPR & AED) certification and am presently certified as an NREMT.
