About Carissa

I'd describe my personality as outgoing, compassionate and hardworking. I like working with kids because I get to help them discover new talents and strengths about themselves. I like to imagine things from their perspective and learn from them. I started working with kids when my brothers had children with their wives. I have a 7-year-old and 1-year-old nephew. Babysitting for them often has made me confident in caring for kids (newborn-preteen). In my spare time, I like to workout, I am apart of a crossfit gym in Riverside. I also give pitching lessons on my spare time. I played travel softball and all 4 years in high school as a pitcher. I also like to hangout with my friends and I enjoy walking my dog (she's a 2-year-old Mastiff). My skills include having patience, active listening (always paying attention to what the child is saying or asking me) and being compassionate (treating every child calmly and with good emotional support).
