About Camille

Hi! I'm Camille, a former elementary teacher based in Brooklyn. I earned my B. A. in Public Policy with a minor in education from Duke University and my Elementary Teaching Certification from Johns Hopkins University. My academic interests lie in education policy and educational psychology, the intersection of how we learn and how the systems around us shape that learning. I taught fourth grade in Baltimore from 2020 to 2022, first virtually during the height of the pandemic and then in person. My students were curious, hilarious, and resilient, and they taught me that learning works best when it feels meaningful and joyful. I enjoy tutoring many subjects, most notably English, Social Studies, and History. I love helping students see the patterns that connect the past to the present, and gain confidence putting their own ideas into words. My approach is structured but flexible: I set clear goals, then create space for curiosity, creativity, and discovery.
