Working with children has been a passion of mine since I was in Middle School, when I had my first experience with babysitting a neighbor of mine. I fell in love with caregiving so much that I changed my major from Interior Design to Early Childhood and Special Education. The unconditional love and joy children bring is the reason why I want to become a caregiver. I've worked as a preschool teacher for 10 years in Maryland before moving to Virginia four years ago. Since then, I have been a caregiver for family members and other families around the area. I really enjoy the children's interests, company, and laughter. I am not afraid to get messy, as well as, going outside and encouraging healthy choices throughout the day. I have experience with children from ages 18 months to 10 years. Patience is truly key when working with children and I have grown to listen and understand rather than dictate. However, I can show authority as well as make learning and play time fun!

Brittany is an excellent teacher and has a natural style with children of all ages. I am the Director of the preschool she is currently working in, and I wouldn't hesitate to place Brittany in any classroom. She is kind, loving, and tuned in to each child's needs. She is professional, responsible, and reliable. She goes above and beyond what is needed and any family is lucky to have her!
