As a companion I am passionate about getting to know my seniors, learning their interest, what they love to do, what makes them happy and puts a smile on their face! I have been employed as a companion for 5 years now and as a volunteer much longer than that. I have also spent the past 20 years caring for a disabled son. That son is now a junior in college, living on his own and doing exceptionally well! Whether preparing a meal, watching a movie or working on a puzzle together, listening to your favorite music, engaging in a day of stimulating and meaningful conversation, I'm here to help you whatever your need all provided with dignity and respect. We have known Brenda for twenty years now. Got to know her as someone committed to providing a helping hand where needed. She prepared and delivered meals to seniors. In doing so she noticed other ways she was needed. Companionship, Brenda began to not just drop off a meal but recognized the longing need for a visit so, she decided to set their table, serve up her famous bread and soup of the day, pull up an extra chair and spend time visiting and listening. She has always said "A small act of kindness that abundantly rewards my soul!" Brenda is very dedicated and compassionate and helps in whatever way she is needed. She has helped me with my own dad.
