About Brenda

For over 20 years I have taught math in public schools, private schools, on-line schools, and even in my own home, when I home-schooled my five children. My experience has provided me with tremendous insight into how students learn math, the most common misunderstandings with different topics, the necessary skills that need to be in place to access a given topic, and a variety of ways to assess student's level of understanding. I earned my Bachelor's degree in mathematics & secondary education, my Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus in math, and my National Board Certification in math. Currently, I hold a Master's teacher license in the state of Colorado for secondary mathematics. Coupling my experience with my education, and adding my immeasurable patience to the equation, I believe I am able to help anyone learn that they too can be "good at math."

We love Brenda! We hired Brenda to work with our daughter E who is a junior in high school. She needed support working through integrated math. My daughter doesn't love math but she always puts in 110% effort and tries very hard to learn the material, she just needed a little extra encouragement and support. Brenda did that and more! Brenda made her feel comfortable and confident from the first tutoring session. E said she loved her right away and knew it was going to be a great match. E has used Brenda for this entire semester and has done great in math, she currently has an A heading into her finals! E also wanted to increase her SAT score in math so Brenda spent a month doing SAT prep once a week with her and E was able to increase her score by 30 points! Brenda also worked with us to find a time that worked for us. We highly recommend her, she is terrific! Thanks Brenda!
