About Brandee

Experience: I babysat on and off for 1 to 2 kids (between ages 2 to 8) in high school. I also volunteered with special needs kids. The majority of my experience with children has been as an ice skating instructor. I have taught skating one on one and in groups of up to 10 kids (ages 2 to 16) over the course of 6 years. Skills: I love being active and imaginary with kids. As a skating instructor, I was always coming up with different games and activities that engage kids while also teaching them. I also love to encourage reading, playing outside, and doing crafts. Availability: I am available to work immediately on nights and weekends through May 2014. Do you need a date night sitter, someone to watch the kids while you go to your regular evening activity, or do you just need a day on the weekend to yourself? I'm your girl! Purpose: This summer I will be taking a volunteer trip to Ghana, West Africa. I plan to use all the money I earn babysitting to support myself while volunteering with an organization that helps orphaned and vulnerable children move from living in institutions to family based care. The group is called Kaeme (look them up, they are pretty neat). Background Check: I just finished up a year of AmeriCorps VISTA service in February. AmeriCorps is a national service program that works to fight poverty by building the capacity of community organizations. In order to be accepted into that program, the government had to complete a full background check on me. Upon request, I can show proof of my service and clear completion of that check. I can also provide references. In summary, I am a responsible, patient, flexible, dedicated, and caring individual. I would love the opportunity to get to know your children and help them learn, grow, and have fun.
