I'd describe my personality as outgoing introvert. I enjoy conversation and finding common interests as well as learning new skills. I like tutoring because I enjoy observing child/human development in real time. I'm looking for a job that provides satisfaction and social interaction. I started tutoring when... This is my first tutoring job since retiring from teaching. In my spare time, I like to walk/hike, read, write, and travel. Visiting art museums and supporting the visual and performing arts is a great source of inspiration. One thing you should know about me is I have had experience teaching in Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia, and 5 years in Alaska. I also lived with a family in Madrid, Spain as their English coach. My skills include 1- assessing knowledge base, 2- "chunking down" skills into reasonable/manageable bits, and 3- providing support and encouragement so that the student may learn maintenance and ownership of their newfound ability/skill.
