I have been a caregiver for 2 years and a medication technician for over 6 months. I mostly worked in memory care facilities and take care of residents with dementia. As a caregiver, I have experience in assisting residents with their Activities of Daily Living, showers, laundry, meal preparation, and I can also do light housekeeping. I am trained to transfer residents with the use of a hoyer lift and sit-to-stand. As a medication technician, I am responsible for medication administration under RN's supervision, by physician's orders, and state regulations; I assist with wound care for pressure sores, surgical site wounds, and skin breakdowns/tear; I am responsible for communicating and updating outside agencies such as hospice and outside nurses regarding residents under their care.
